What we cover
Five editorial pillars drive the publication:
- Case law & settlements — appellate decisions, settlements of record, and the doctrinal shifts that reshape how plaintiff cases get valued.
- Liens & settlement — explainers on hospital liens, government liens (Medi-Cal, Medicare, ERISA), letters of protection, statutory caps, and how providers actually get paid at closing.
- City & specialty hubs — the directory is the working surface for finding providers, with 68 specialties and state-by-state coverage.
- Practice operations — intake, demand letters, lien negotiation, billing systems, and the back-office mechanics of running a plaintiff firm.
- Industry news — statutory changes, regulatory developments, and the business-of-PI stories practitioners need.
The directory
Every directory listing is reviewed before it goes live. Providers self-attest to accepting medical liens, workers' compensation, and/or letters of protection, and they are filterable by specialty, state, city, language, and acceptance type. Practices can apply to be listed with free Basic listings or paid Premium and Featured tiers.
Editorial standards
Articles cite statute, regulation, and case law by name. Where authors offer interpretation, it's labeled as analysis. Nothing on LawyersTrend constitutes legal advice. Directory listings are not endorsements: attorneys remain responsible for vetting any provider they refer a client to.
Who's behind the masthead
LawyersTrend's editorial team includes a case-law beat anchored by Marshall Vance and a lien-medicine specialist beat anchored by Renée Brennan, with editorial direction from staff and contributing voices across the personal injury bar.
